Is Acupuncture Safe?

When performed correctly by a competent, well-trained professional, acupuncture is a natural, gentle process that is absolutely safe.

What Will My First Visit Be Like?

When you come in you will fill out a short form at the reception area.  Then, after a few minutes, you will be shown to a private treatment room.  Dr. Wang will then give you a full consultation and any examinations necessary, followed by the appropriate treatments, herbal prescriptions or directions.

Is There Anything I Should Do To Prepare for an Acupuncture Treatment?

Try to avoid going into treatment with an empty stomach and avoid rigorous exercise right before and after treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need and How Often?

This is a frequently asked question and one that is very difficult to answer because...

  1. Each individual has a unique body constitution that makes his/her treatment needs different from another person's, even if their problems are identical, and

  2. Dr. Wang often needs to see the patient's responses to the first one or two treatments before setting up a treatment plan.

Will Insurance Cover This?

Some companies, such as Aetna and United Healthcare, offer plans that do cover acupuncture.  To find out if your plan covers acupuncture, call a representative of the company and ask or, if you prefer, give us your information (such as your insurance membership card or policy) and we will call your insurance company to confirm.  If you are entitled to benefits, you may either file claims yourself or let us file them for you.
